The Extensive Photo Report from the Operating Room
Join our patient for her body contouring surgery: Our patient, Julia Jasmin Rühle—also known as JJ from „Berlin – Tag & Nacht“—invites you to follow along as she undergoes her body contouring procedure. The surgery was performed by our surgeon, Karen Towmasjan. We reported on this for the first time here. And so it went on:
Body Contouring: Before the Procedure
Before every procedure, we hold at least one in-depth consultation with our patients. In JJ’s case, there were two preliminary consultations. Our surgeon, Dr. Towmasjan, explained to JJ how the procedure would go and what she could do to help speed up her recovery.
Immediately before the surgery, Mr. Towmasjan marks the areas of the body that are to be contoured. He explains to the patient how liposuction will be performed optimally in her case.

Now it’s off to the operating room. JJ receives a light anesthetic, also known as „twilight sleep.“ During this procedure, the patient breathes on her own but is unaware of what is happening, is completely relaxed, and feels no pain.
First, the previously marked areas are numbed. After the anesthetic has taken effect for about 15–20 minutes, we can begin the liposuction procedure. We use special cannulas for this; the incisions are so small that they leave no scars. Next, the abdominal region is contoured: Using a special liposuction technique, we recreate defined abdominal muscle lines. The surgery takes about 2.5 hours in total.
After body contouring surgery:
After the surgery, JJ will be taken directly to the recovery room, where our team will monitor him.
Here, the patient can recover in peace and quiet. After the anesthesia, JJ is quickly back on her feet and can be discharged home after just 2–3 hours. She is given a special compression garment that must be worn day and night for 10–14 days. The compression garment can be removed for showering, but full baths should be avoided for 4–5 weeks. The same applies to saunas, tanning beds, and direct sunlight.
The first follow-up appointment takes place 10–14 days later. At this appointment, a decision will be made regarding how long the compression garment must be worn—only during the day at that point. In most cases, it’s another 4–5 weeks. By the way: You can resume exercising about 1–2 weeks after the body contouring procedure!
You'll soon find out on our blog how JJ felt after the surgery and how the follow-up appointment at KT-Beauty went. You can find photos and videos from the surgery, as well as other testimonials about body contouring, on our Instagram page: @karentowmasjan.
