Lip Augmentation: The Methods

Here at KT-Beauty, we use hyaluronic acid for lip fillers. Hyaluronic acid offers nothing but benefits: It does not cause lumps or other irreversible damage, as can happen with some other fillers. In addition, hyaluronic acid can be easily removed if, after the treatment, you wish to return to a natural, more subtle lip shape. Please keep in mind: Hyaluronic acid does not last forever. It is completely broken down by the body within nine to twelve months.

We do not perform lip augmentation using the patient’s own fat. This procedure can often lead to nodules, deformities, and irregularities that make the lips look unattractive. These complications are difficult to correct; in the worst-case scenario, they can only be corrected through surgery.

Permanent Lip Augmentation

We are equally critical of permanent lip augmentation using implants. Take, for example, lip augmentation with silicone gel: This is an outdated method that carries too many risks. The results often look very unnatural, leading many patients to want to have these implants removed sooner or later. Ultimately, the German Society for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery (DGÄPC) is reluctant to endorse this method of lip augmentation—and we share that view.

There are no standard prices for lip augmentation, as the cost varies depending on the desired result.
