Alena's Breast Surgery—From Anesthesia to Waking Up

Are you dreaming of breast augmentation but still have reservations or feel a little anxious? Then why not take a look behind the scenes with us? Join our patient Alena as she undergoes her breast augmentation. The procedure was performed by our surgeon, Karen Towmasjan.

Step 1: The Consultation

At least two consultations are held before breast augmentation surgery. One takes place a few weeks before the surgery, and the second immediately before the procedure. Our surgeon will explain what will happen during the procedure and discuss potential risks and post-operative care with you. You’re welcome to hold different breast implants in your hands and „try them on“ (simply place them inside your bra). The excitement for your new bust size is building!

Step 2: The Procedure

After the second consultation, during which the surgical procedure is reviewed once more and any new questions are addressed, it’s finally time to head to the operating room. The patient arrives at the appointment on an empty stomach or has had a light breakfast 5–6 hours beforehand. First, a “before” photo is taken. Then Dr. Towmasjan takes all the necessary measurements and marks them on Alena’s chest.

The patient speaks with the anesthesiologist once more, and once all questions have been answered, an IV line is inserted. The anesthesia, which also contains pain medication, begins to take effect.

Dr. Towmasjan uses the periareolar incision here. This means that the incision runs in a semicircle around the nipple, leaving no visible scar. The breast implants are later inserted through this incision. First, however, the gland is separated from the muscle wall, and sufficient space is prepared for the implant. This gives the new breast a beautiful, natural shape. During the surgery, we ensure adequate hemostasis so that no blood enters the breast pocket, thereby preventing capsular contracture. A drain is inserted, and then the implant is placed into the breast pocket. The incision is then closed. The same procedure is repeated on the other side. The surgery takes about 1–1.5 hours in total, and we naturally maintain the highest standards of sterility throughout. Afterward, the patient is fitted with a compression bandage and transported to the recovery room.

Before long, Alena is awake and fully conscious. She now has the bust size she’s always dreamed of—a C cup. She stays one more night for observation, and the next day she goes home.
