Getting an abdominoplasty in Zurich:
KT-Beauty explains how it works
In certain life situations, the human body can undergo significant changes. These include, for example, pregnancy or significant weight gain followed by rapid, drastic weight loss. Such changes can leave clearly visible marks—such as severely sagging skin in the abdominal area that no longer retracts on its own. In extreme cases, the skin sags, causing irritation, pain, and difficulty moving—and thus leading to emotional distress. In such cases, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can be the solution.
What happens during a tummy tuck?
During a tummy tuck, we remove excess skin and fat tissue and, if necessary, tighten the muscles. The latter is particularly important in cases of diastasis so that you can enjoy a beautiful six-pack after surgery.
A tummy tuck tightens the abdominal wall and creates a beautiful, slender silhouette. You’ll need to wear a special compression garment for about 6–8 weeks after the procedure, but you’ll be able to see the results during that time. Over the next few months, your abdomen will continue to change: your waist will become even slimmer, and our patients often lose a few kilograms. After about a year, you’ll be able to enjoy the final result—your new body with beautiful, aesthetic contours!
Will there be a scar after a tummy tuck?
Unfortunately, this procedure cannot be performed without leaving any scars at all. However, we always try to keep the incision as small as possible and place it in the bikini area. This makes it easy to conceal the scar later on.
Tummy Tuck and Health Insurance: When Will Your Insurance Cover the Costs?
A tummy tuck is generally a private service that you must pay for yourself. However, there are exceptions: extreme cases, medically necessary reasons for the surgery (e.g., rectus diastasis), etc. In these cases, your health insurance may cover all or part of the cost of your tummy tuck. Please note: At KT-beauty, we work exclusively with private health insurance providers.
If you're paying out of pocket: How much does a tummy tuck cost?
Prices for a tummy tuck vary. For one thing, the cost depends on which type of abdominoplasty is right for you. Sometimes a mini tummy tuck is sufficient. Or we may opt for a classic abdominoplasty, or in some cases, an extended abdominoplasty.
On the other hand, in some cases, liposuction must be performed before a tummy tuck to reduce the layer of fat and thus achieve the best possible result. After 4–6 months, the abdominal wall can also be tightened. However, all of this can only be determined during a personal consultation.
